International flights

Most major airlines fly into Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport, and a few fly into Cairns Airport. A number of U.S. cities even have direct flights to Sydney. Popular connection cities are Dubai, Singapore, and Hong Kong. From Sydney, Cairns is a quick three-hour flight.

To and from the airport

The picturesque one-hour drive from Cairns to Port Douglas is perfect for a rental car adventure along the Great Barrier Reef Drive. Shuttles, buses, and car services are also available. Don't forget to drive on the left side!

Getting around

Most hotels and accommodations are conveniently close to the main street, Macrossan Street, which links Four Mile Beach to Dickson Inlet. The town center is filled with charming shops and delicious restaurants, accessible by car, bus, bike, or foot.
